Vicente "Ching" Veloso

A brilliant lawyer, with an outstanding career spanning decades of advocacy for fairness, justice, and protection of the marginalized.

He spent 11 years as Justice of the Court of Appeals, afterwhich he ran and won as congressman of Leyte’s 3rd district. He was no ordinary congressman. While other House

representatives had a maximum of two committees, his expertise in law led to his active involvement with 18 Congressional committees, most notably the House Committee on Justice.

Before that, he taught law at the Ateneo University and the University of the Philippines.

Today, Ching Veloso has embarked on a yet another battle, that of freeing Leyte’s fourth district from tyranny and repression.
